About Me
I'm a designer from Toronto with a focus on solving complex problems into intuitive solutions. I'm at my best when I'm utilizing my full skill set to tackle design problems, including research, rapid-prototyping, interaction, and visual design.
I began my work in product design while working as a Sales Associate at a Toronto shirting company. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, our company was forced to move online for the first time to serve our customers remotely- and I was given the opportunity to lead this transition. I found my passion for UX/UI on this project while getting hands-on experience with user research, competitor analysis, visual design, and collaborating with artists/ developers. This experience eventually led me to hone my skills at Brainstation, and pursue this field as my primary career.
How working in the Film Industry made me a better designer
Before I started my career in Product Design, I worked as a Costume Designer in the Film Industry. This work taught me how to work within large teams with multiple departments, each with its own needs and challenges. I had to incorporate feedback from these departments into my costume designs- balancing the creative interests of the actors and director with the financial constraints of the production, or the colour palettes set by the art or camera departments. The lessons I learned working on set have been highly valuable, and have carried over well into my work as a product designer.
